Handspun Yarn – Artyarn – Blue Silk and Mohair

Soft, silky with a lovely lustre. This yarn was handspun by myself on my Ashford spinning wheel. It is made up of one lockspun Mohair single and one single of spun silk. Mohair locks come from a local flock of Angora goats and the silk is spun from silk hankies.
The mohair and silk were dyed prior to spinning, once drafted out for spinning produces subtle tones of mainly dark blue with lighter blue highlights.
Yarn differs in width as is the character of handspun mohair locks. The locks give this yarn lots of character and texture.
