Vegetarian Sheepskin Rug – Gotland Fleece
An interesting fleece, being a mixture of brown and cream colours and range of grey shades. The fleece is fairly soft and is thick and curly. This Gotland fleece is a 2019 sheared fleece from a flock of sheep owned by a friend.
Gotland fleeces seemed to be in short supply last year, as they are very sensitive to warm weather, so most were too felted to work with, so this is my last Gotland fleece until after 2020 shearing in the coming spring.
As you can see the fleece is fairly sheep shaped; they are all different and this one has lots of character and different shades of colour.
Gotland tends to be more suitable as a rug, rather than throw. If you sit on it for too long e.g. as a throw on a chair, the locks will eventually felt.
