These felted rugs are also know as “vegetarian sheep skin rugs”, this is because they look like a sheepskin rug, but they are made from a sheared fleece. This particular fleece is made from the 2019 spring clip from a Masham breed of sheep.
My handmade rugs are all 100% British Wool. I only use natural soap in the felting process.
This rug is made up of Masham fleece, with Shetland Wool backing and a mid layer of Jacob.
Not for use in heavy traffic areas, as this may damage the fleece.
Care Instructions
Shouldn’t really ever need washing, as wool repels dirt naturally, best to give a gentle shake and put out in the fresh air for a little while, if needed.
This wool rug can be carefully washed if absolutely necessary, with a wool wash product. Gentle hand wash only, do not wring. Be very careful lifting out of water and always support under the backing as lifting by the locks could rip the backing away. Wrap in a towel and squeeze gently to remove excess water, then dry flat away from direct heat.
