The Icelandic sheep is a hardy resilient little sheep that were introduced to Iceland by the Vikings. They have a long silky fleece which is light weight and extremely warm.
This particular rug is made from a 2019 fleece from a shearling ewe that lives in Scotland. A shearling is a sheep that is having its fleece clipped for the first time.
The fleece is super soft and extremely thick with long wavy locks and a soft warm base. It will make a beautiful rug or throw.

Rug can be washed if really necessary, but care must be taken as when washing any woollen item not to shrink and in the case of a felted rug, not to tear the locks away from the backing under the weight of the water.
Recommended for use in light traffic area where no footwear will come in contact with the rug.
